An adult should always supervise the use of fireworks.

Use a candle or an agarbathi to safely ignite the fireworks.
Keep a bucket of water nearby to extinguish any potential fires.
Aerial fireworks should be set off in a safe, open area to ensure a proper landing.

Don'ts
Never ignite fireworks while holding them. Place them on the ground, ignite, and then walk away.
Do not place fireworks in any container to ignite them.
If a firework malfunctions, immediately abandon it.
Never ignite aerial fireworks near overhead obstructions like trees, wires, or leaves. Ensure there is enough open space.
Avoid igniting aerial fireworks near buildings or open windows/doors to prevent sparks from flying into structures.
Fireworks should never be used inside the house.
Only use fireworks outdoors, and not on public roadways or thoroughfares.
Never attempt to experiment with or make your own fireworks.
Never attempt to re-light a "dud" firework. Wait for 15 to 20 minutes and then soak it in water.
